Case Study – Daniel Flannigan

Daniel Flannigan joined the third cohort of The Circle Academy at just 16 years old, taking it on alongside his high school education. He planned to finish school after that year and then move on to get qualifications in business and entrepreneurship, eventually aiming to secure an apprenticeship. When he joined the programme, Daniel didn’t have a particular idea that he wanted to develop through the Academy. However, by the time he completed the programme, Daniel had planned to set up a clothing line that would use its profits to benefit causes for men’s mental health.

Daniel developed tremendously throughout his time at The Circle Academy and formed a fantastic pitch at the end of his time on the course. He went on to win the pitch competition at the end of his cohort, receiving a small funding pot to go towards start-up costs for his venture.

"I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do at the start of the course but by the end, I had a fully planned out business plan that is going underway this year. It didn’t feel like school, even though we were learning but it’s because you’re developing yourself and your business idea. It was just a great experience and learning opportunity that anyone should grasp if they get the chance."
